At Bell Park North we incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) throughout our curriculum. We also have a weekly STEM sessions. STEM is student lead, students work in small groups and are encouraged to work to their strength. The teacher is there to facilitate and support when needed to guide their thinking.
During STEM sessions students are grouped with children from Grades 3 – 6. In these small groups they work on a topic that incorporates the STEM areas, as well as creative thinking and problem solving. Students have access to various technology and tools. The object of this curriculum area is to encourage strategic thinking.
Past projects have included gardening, building, school improvement, geography, natural disasters and fitness.
