REMOTE AND FLEXIBLE LEARNING FRIDAY 28TH MAY – THURSDAY 3RD JUNE
Dear parents and carers,
Following advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all Victorian schools will move to a period of remote and flexible learning from Monday 31 May to Thursday 3 June inclusive.
Today (Friday 28 May) is a student-free day to allow schools time to prepare. Remote and flexible learning will begin on Monday 31 May.
As with other remote learning periods, our school will provide on-site supervision for students ONLY in the following categories:
• Children where both parents and/or carers are authorised workers who cannot work from home, work for an essential provider and where no other supervision arrangements can be made:
o Where there are two parents/carers, both must be authorised workers, working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision
o For single parents/ carers, the authorised worker must be working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision.
• Children experiencing vulnerability, including:
o children in out-of-home care
o children deemed vulnerable by a government agency, funded family or family violence service, and is assessed as requiring education and care outside the family home
o children identified by a school or early childhood service as vulnerable, including via referral from a government agency, or funded family or family violence service, homeless or youth justice service or mental health or other health service.
If your child requires on-site supervision, please contact Miss Lagadinos or Mr Cox on 52783548
We would appreciate requests for on site attendance for next week being made by contacting us by phone as soon as possible before 2 p.m. today. Upon request you will be required to provide evidence of your essential work (such as a confirmation letter from your employer or work identification / registration card) will need to be completed to gain approval for your child’s attendance. Evidence will need to be shown that both parents are essential workers unable to work from home on the stated days.
Your children’s teachers will post a COMPASS message each morning outlining the tasks set out for children to work on for the day.
Information is available to support your child’s learning from home. Please also refer to our school website.
If your child is going to be absent for the whole day, morning or afternoon session we ask that you enter this in COMPASS or contact our school office.
If you have any queries you are welcome to contact our school office on: 5278 3548
We appreciate your co-operation and support once again.
