At Bell Park North Primary School, we timetable one hour per week for a whole school Social Emotional Awareness Learning (SEAL) time. During the hour, every student will participate in learning aimed at their age level around Social Emotional Awareness.
Each classroom has a SEAL and other areas around the school also have a SEAL.
Our SEAL sessions consist of the following:
There is information on the Department of Education website Respectful Relationships
This program looks at self-regulation.
It teaches the four colour zones.
We all experience each of these zones, there is no good or bad zone. It is more about how we manage ourselves in these zones.
Each student will receive a journal, where they will work through lessons.
TRP teaches the following:
GEM – Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy.
There is a component of TRP@home, where parents can access the parent hub: The Resilience Project
In our newsletter there is a section called “Swimming with SEAL” where we will put information about what your child is learning in SEAL. We encourage you to have a look and discuss what with your child what they have been learning.
